I have great news!

My bleeding and spotting has completely disappeared and have had none since my last pregnancy update. I’m convinced that the cause was my backwards uterus. Weird, but glad that it’s gone.

This means I’m off pelvic rest! My husband is quite happy about this. 😉

Fetal Movement at 17 Weeks

The coolest thing happened to me this past Sunday. I was putting my son to bed and I felt some movement, which I had already felt here and there, so I put my hand on my belly and I felt my baby move… from the outside! It was really wild, thrilling, reassuring and made me tear up. These are some of the best moments of pregnancy!

17 Weeks Pregnant What to Expect

My nausea is leaving me bit by bit but still lingering as if it is sad to leave. I’m not sad! Get away!!

Shout out to super cool student midwife, Helen, who today showed me where my uterus was (right under my belly button which is normal for 17 weeks pregnant) and let me hear my baby’s heartbeat. Such a relief to know that everything is OK!

Planning For Gender Reveal

I have three more weeks until the sex of the baby is revealed! This time I’m considering having them write the sex in an envelope, not telling us in the office and opening it later that day.

It’s so impersonal having some doctor saying “looks like outdoor plumbing” and I’d rather have a more intimate moment with my husband when we find out. Matt and I tend to be private, so I think doing it this way would be more us.

Yes, the doctor told us that Mr. G had outdoor plumbing. It took me a moment to figure out what the heck he was talking about.

Planning For a Water Birth

I might be jumping the gun, but I’m starting to think about my home waterbirth. I am planning to get the Aquaborn Birth Pool from Waterbirth Solutions.

If you had a waterbirth, what did you use? A pool? Tub? I’d love to hear what you used.
