21 Weeks Pregnant Ultrasound

Well folks, I’m 21 weeks pregnant.

The weeks are starting to fly by.

Picture one of those day calendars you keep on your desk that have fun cartoons on them or whatever… and see the pages being torn off faster and faster and FASTER! That is exactly what feels like is happening. It’s a little freaky as I know December will be here before you know it.

I’ve Been at Births

The past two weeks have been hectic, tiring, beautiful and inspiring. I helped my friend give birth at home to a healthy boy, then my doula client had a beautiful natural childbirth at the hospital and to top it off I was witness to an awesome hospital VBAC.

Postpartum Wake Up Call

I have seen all these mamas postpartum – two second time moms and one first time mom. I am reminded how tough (or not!) postpartum can be.

Mentally, I keep asking myself, “Are you ready for this, Lindsey?”.

Newborns are no joke, y’all. They require mothers to put their own lives on hold, sleep deprivation is inevitable, and engorged boobs are only cool to husbands.

However, having been there before, I think the transition won’t be so dramatic. The maiden has already died, you know?
