Exciting Fall Pregnancy Bucket List Ideas
Take Pictures! 📷
I love taking photos and capturing memories, especially milestone moments during pregnancy. Whether sharing on social media, printing for home, or just to keep on the phone, here are some opportunities to take pictures during each trimester!
First Trimester Pregnancy Announcement
Sharing on social media? Check out these fall themed pregnancy announcement ideas. (For a good laugh, here’s my first fall pregnancy announcement fail. Hilarious!)
Second Trimester Fall Gender Reveal
Looking for a creative way to tell friends and family baby is on the way? Check out these fall gender reveal ideas!
Third Trimester Baby Shower or Mother Blessing
A fall themed baby shower in the third trimester is adorable and cozy. For my second child that was born in December, my friends threw me a baby shower/mother blessing with a fall theme a couple months ahead of my due date. Below is a photo of me with an adorable fall colored dress on!
Pregnancy Photo Shoot
Of course, there doesn’t need to be an event to warrant taking pregnancy photos. Whether professional or not, PLEASE make sure to get some pictures of this pivotal moment in time!
New Pregnancy, New Season, New Clothes!
With the weather shifting and the belly growing, it’s time to get some cute, new fall clothing staples! Of course, this doesn’t need to be expensive…. unless you want it to be? I always found great pieces at Target, Amazon, and even dare I say it… Goodwill. Get creative and enjoy the process!
Funny Fall Pregnancy Shirts
Of course, check out my cute Halloween or fall pregnancy shirts list! There are fun and adorable shirts for Thanksgiving, Halloween, football season, and more!
New Fall Scarf
Nothing says I’m ready for fall than a beautiful, cozy scarf. This one would go great with those leggings above!
Pumpkins 🎃
When I say pumpkin you say fall – PUMPKIN! FALL! PUMPKIN! FALL! LOL For whatever reason pumpkins and fall go together like Forest and Jenny. Here are my best fall pregnancy bucket list ideas regarding pumpkins.
Go to a Pumpkin Patch
PLEASE go to a pumpkin patch when you’re pregnant. PLEASE! And make sure to take pictures. It’s adorable.
Carve a Pumpkin
Also, take said pumpkin home or have it delivered via Walmart grocery. This is so fun!
Cook Pumpkin Seeds
Baked and salted pumpkin seeds are so delicious and simple to make. And hello fiber! Check out this pumpkin seed recipe from The Girl Who Ate Everything for instructions.
Pumpkin Spice ________
If pumpkin spice sounds amazing then make sure to add some to your fall pregnancy bucket list. Trader Joes is a good first stop because I’m pretty sure they’ve pumpkin spiced all the things. Of course, Starbucks is must as well. Enjoy!
Apple Activities! 🍎
I’m from upstate New York and to me fall = all things apples. Apple picking, fresh apple cider (and donuts!), homemade applesauce, and apple pie (not necessarily homemade)!
Apple Picking
If you are fortunate enough to live near apples during harvest time, make sure to go pick a few and take some photos. Maybe next year you’ll bring your little one and make it a tradition!
Apple Cider
Fresh apple cider is *chefs kiss*. It’s so good. And it’s not the same stuff you’ll find at Walmart. That stuff burns my throat, it’s so bad. Have it cold or warm… just make sure you have it!
Make Apple Sauce
Applesauce is so simple to make you guys, and it makes the house smell delicious! I highly recommend doing this one afternoon.
Bake an Apple Pie
Apple pie is one of my favorite pies (strawberry rhubarb is my favorite if you’re wondering!) and it’s a must have during a fall pregnancy. Don’t worry, I’ve found that grocery store apple pies are extremely delicious so don’t think you need to make this yourself. Outsource, baby!
Outdoor Activities 🏈🔥🍁
With cool temperatures, fall is a great time to check outdoor activities off a fall pregnancy bucket list. Which ones are exciting for you?
Football Game Anyone?
I am a diehard Florida State Seminole fan so there’s no shortage of opportunities for my community to enjoy a good (American) football game. There’s really fun to GO to, just make sure you plan ahead for food/beverage/heat/cold solutions!
Outdoor Hike
Do you love a good walk or hike in the outdoors? Pregnancy is no reason to stop! Go on a favorite trail, or one you’re curious about and enjoy the serenity of nature. Make sure to stay hydrated and bring snacks! Always bring snacks. 😉
Corn Maze
If an adventurous and unknown walk sounds more thrilling, find your nearest farm with a corn maze and get your steps in! Bring a buddy just in case.
Fall Picnic
On a day that has beautiful weather, pack a lunch (or get it to-go), grab a sheet/blanket, and eat out en plein air. Take some deep breaths for you and baby, and enjoy the moment.
Fall Community Event
Many communities have local events surrounding the autumn season. Look around on Facebook, farms, or the local newspaper for ideas. It will be nice to share some memories with others.
Bonfire/Fire Pit 🔥
One of my favorite things in the whole wide world is sitting around a fire outside. If you speak my language, see if you can figure out how to make it happen. Whether it’s in your own backyard or a friend’s, find a way to make it happen. OR if you live in the sweltering south like me, maybe turn on a video of a fire, crank the ac down, put a cozy blanket on, and sip on some hot cocoa. LOL #floridalife
Fall Foliage Tour
I am truly jealous of those that live around beautiful fall leaves changing color. This is one of the things I miss the most about living up north. If you can swing it, go for a drive (or a trip!) to see the yellows, oranges, browns, and reds. It’s stunning!
Collect/Press Autumn Leaves
If you’re a collector of things, different color leaves may be a fun thing to collect and save somehow. Maybe in a baby book or journal? Or you could take photos of the scenery and have them printed.
Indoor Activities ☕🕯️🥣
Start a Pregnancy Journal
Speaking of pregnancy journals, a lovely fall pregnancy bucket list idea is to start a baby book or a journal. If you’re a journaler already, this is right up your alley! Here are some pregnancy journal prompts to get you started.
House Cleaner
Dealing with morning sickness? Hire a house cleaner. Just completed the second trimester? Hire a house cleaner. Gearing up for childbirth? Hire a house cleaner. Treat yo self! You’re growing a human (or two)!
Fall Candle
Do you love walking into your home and it smelling like cinnamon or like something delicious is baking? What are your favorite fall scents? Light a fall candle or diffuse a fall scented essential oil and enjoy!
Make a Cozy Fall Soup
One of my favorite fall soups is an easy butternut squash soup that I make in my Instantpot. It’s delicious! Make your favorite soup and settle in for a cozy evening.
Decorate for Fall and/or Halloween
Here in Florida, in order to get our fall vibe going on it’s necessary to take a trip to Hobby Lobby (or wherever you get your seasonal decor) to pick up fall decor. It may be 90 degrees out and humid, but by golly we’re going to put up a scarecrow, pumpkins, and leaves.
Buy New Fall Coffee Mugs
I’m a sucker for seasonal coffee mugs and love sitting at my kitchen table on a fall morning with a hot cup of coffee with new said mug. Is it just me?
Escape Room
Want to do something totally outside the box? Consider booking a visit to an escape room with family and friends. Escape rooms are a ton of fun with the right group, that’s indoors away from the weather. Get your thinking caps on and see if you can get out of the room within an hour!
Enjoy Halloween 👻
It’s your first halloween pregnant! Whether you’re still in your first trimester and nobody knows, or about to pop, try some of these pregnancy bucket list ideas.
Hand Out candy
One of the most fun things a pregnant person can do on Halloween is to hand out candy to the cute little (and big) trick-or-treaters that come knocking. Make sure to take note of any clever or fun family costume ideas. Pretty soon it’ll be you on the other side of the door!
Pregnant Halloween Costume
For some big fun, consider dressing up for Halloween or a Halloween party. I have tons of ideas for you! Check out my list of fun pregnant Halloween costume ideas or if you dare, scary pregnant Halloween costume ideas. Have so much fun!
Watch a Halloween Movie
Once I became pregnant for the first time I stopped watching horror movies. They really revolted me. In keeping with the anti-horror movie theme, the following are family-friendly Halloween movies that probably won’t give a pregnant person nightmares. 🙂
- Hocus Pocus (1 & 2)
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Beetlejuice
- Adams Family
- Coraline
- Corpse Bride
- Casper
- Hotel Transylvania
- Edward Scissorhands
- Labyrinth
- Coco
- Ghostbusters
- Monsters, Inc.
- Willow
- Little Shop of Horrors
- It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
- The Harry Potter series
- Twilight
- Practical Magic
- ET
- Gremlins
Thanksgiving Plans 🦃
The holidays are full of spoken and unspoken expectations, and sometimes we aren’t fully aware of them until becoming a parent. The following isn’t so much of fall pregnancy bucket list ideas, but more tips to handle the holidays when pregnant.
- In my humble opinion, when pregnant, one should not host the family Thanksgiving dinner nor be in charge or the bulk of the cooking. It’s not worth the stress.
- I know Costco makes a pre-cooked Thanksgiving meal that is reasonably priced and is honestly surprisingly delicious. Consider it!
- Ideally, a pregnant person should be able to show up for dinner wearing her super cute Thanksgiving turkey maternity shirt, pie in hand and that’s about it.
